Sports, Music and Drama

Life at Magdalene is about much more than academic work. There are a host of extra-curricular opportunities, some of which are outlined here.

We have excellent facilities for a wide range of sports, and for musical and dramatic productions, and a large number of active College societies. The further opportunities available across the wider University cover a vast array of interests and cater cater for all ranges from expert to beginner.

The College is also in the process of upgrading its facilities for the visual arts through the Future Foundations campaign. This will include a new, purpose-built art gallery within the new College Library building.



Sport has always been an integral part of College life, and there are opportunities to get involved in a huge range of sports regardless of ability. Magdalene sports provide a fantastic opportunity to keep fit, socialise, have fun, and try out new activities.

Music and Drama

There is a huge range of arts, music and drama societies to get involved with. Music is an important part of student life at Magdalene, the College Choir sing Choral Evensong twice a week in Chapel, tour every summer and regularly sings in cathedrals, services, and events across the UK.
