
Chapel
The historic Chapel building is a living place which brings the College community together in worship, reflection, and prayer. The Chapel is open to all resident members and staff who wish to sit and pray, reflect, or just seek some quiet in this peaceful place.
The Chapel is closed to visitors except to those Members of College on site.
Our worship continues online with the following pattern for Lent Term 2021
Sunday Evening Music and Prayers
Each Sunday in Term watch a short evening service of music and prayers on the Chapel Youtube Channel, beginning on 24 January.
Morning Prayer on Mondays, 8.30am
Watch the short service streamed from Chapel to the Chapel Facebook Page, beginning on Monday 18 January.
For Resident Members, Sunday morning worship 9.30am and Wednesday night Compline at 9pm, held online - please see the messages from the Chaplain for the links to these services and other events and activities this term.
We look forward to a time when we can return to corporate worship in the Chapel, and to the day when we can again extend a Magdalene welcome to our friends and visitors beyond the College.
About the Chapel
Built in the 1470s, the Chapel embodies Magdalene's rich heritage, our patron saint's life is depicted in the East Window, while memorials commemorate missionaries, church leaders, teachers, and those who gave their lives in conflict.

College Chaplain
The College Chaplain, Rev'd Sarah Atkins, is available to talk to any member of the College community on any matter, personal, practical, or spiritual. Sarah is happy to hear from Members who would like to assist by reading lessons, leading prayers, or serving as a Chapel Officer.
College Choir
The Magdalene College Choir sing Choral Evensong twice a week in Chapel as well as at prestigious College events and special occasions. The choir go on tour every summer and regularly sing in cathedrals, and for services and events across the UK.
Marrying at Magdalene
Magdalene is a stunning location for a wedding, with both ancient buildings and modern facilities. A professional team is here to help with all aspects of planning the wedding and organising the day itself. The College is licensed for Civil Ceremonies and has excellent facilities for receptions.
