About the Chapel
Built in the 1470s, the Chapel embodies Magdalene's rich heritage, our patron saint's life is depicted in the East Window, while memorials commemorate missionaries, church leaders, teachers, and those who gave their lives in conflict.
There is an extensive program of worship in the College Chapel with many interesting and varied speakers throughout the College term. Find out what is going on this term in the Chapel and Discover what events and music recitals are taking place.
The College Chaplain, Rev'd Sarah Atkins, is available to talk to any member of the College community on any matter, personal, practical, or spiritual. Sarah is happy to hear from Members who would like to assist by reading lessons, leading prayers, or serving as a Chapel Officer.
The Magdalene College Choir sing Choral Evensong twice a week in Chapel as well as at prestigious College events and special occasions. The choir go on tour every summer and regularly sing in cathedrals, and for services and events across the UK.
Marrying at Magdalene
Magdalene is a stunning location for a wedding, with both ancient buildings and modern facilities. A professional team is here to help with all aspects of planning the wedding and organising the day itself. The College is licensed for Civil Ceremonies and has excellent facilities for receptions.
The Chapel is open each day for those who wish to pray, reflect, or just seek some quiet in a beautiful and peaceful place. If you would like to discuss pastoral care, worship, the choir or an event in Chapel please contact a member of the Chapel team.
