Sport at Magdalene College Cambridge

Sports

Sport has always been an integral part of College life at Magdalene.

There are opportunities to get involved in a huge range of sports regardless of ability. Sport provides an opportunity for our students to keep fit, socialise, have fun, and try out new activities.

There is a level of sport available for everyone, whether you want to play a social friendly game, join a competitive league or represent the university at the highest level. We field men’s, women’s and mixed teams in all major sports as well as many obscure ones!

Magdalene students share outdoor sporting facilities with St John’s College just a few minutes walk away, including large playing fields, astroturf, and hard surfaces, students can get involved with all sports from football and rugby to netball cricket and Ultimate Frisbee.

We have a small gym on site located at Cripps Court with a range of cardiovascular equipment including running and rowing machines. Use of the gym is free for all Members after completion of a short introduction.

Magdalene Boat Club is located just a few minutes’ walk along the river from the College, rowing is available for students at all levels from total novices to seasoned professionals. The Club has its own boat bay at Queens College Boat House, and shared facilities such as ergo rowing machines, weights and changing rooms.
