Sir John Boardman OBE MA FBA Hon RA

It is with great regret that the College has learned of the death of Sir John Boardman OBE FBA Hon RA, Emeritus Lincoln Professor of Classical Art and Archaeology at the University of Oxford and an Honorary Fellow of the Magdalene College Cambridge for 40 years.

On hearing the sad news Sir Christopher Greenwood, Master of Magdalene, said:

“Sir John Boardman was a towering figure in the world of archaeology and the history of Greek art. He will be greatly missed.”
