Professor Helen Vendler (1933-2024)
It is with great sadness that the College announces that Professor Helen Vendler (1994), Honorary Fellow, died on 23 April 2024 at the age of ninety. Widely regarded as America’s foremost poetry critic, Professor Vendler was Magdalene the Parnell Fellow in 1994-95.
Everest mountaineer’s letters digitised for the first time
Letters written by the famous mountaineer George Mallory have been made available to a global audience for the first time, in the centenary year of his fatal attempt to scale Everest.
School visits to Magdalene
Magdalene regularly hosts school groups for day visits to the College, which provide invaluable opportunities for students to visualise themselves living and studying in a university setting in the future. Magdalene School Liaison Officer, Natalie, gives a breakdown of a typical school visit day.

Mathematics Open Day
In collaboration with the Faculty of Mathematics, Magdalene College will be holding a Mathematics Open Day on Saturday 27 April.
