Mr Alistair Mills is Dias College Assistant Professor of Law and Director of Studies in Law at Magdalene.
Mr Mills supervises undergraduates in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and the Law of Contract. He also supervises Land Economy undergraduates in the contract law element of Private Law.
Having studied law as an undergraduate at Magdalene in 2006-09, Alistair started supervising for the College in 2010 and was made an External College Lecturer in Law in 2012. He became a member of Landmark Chambers following pupillage in 2013, and specialised in public law, and planning and environmental law. He remains an Associate Member of Landmark Chambers. He was awarded the University of Oxford’s Eldon Law Scholarship in 2011.
His research focuses on the power and role of courts in relation to administrative decision-making, especially in the context of the regulation of land use. He has a particular focus in relation to the role, control, and interpretation of administrative policies. He is interested in the intersection between planning law and other areas of law. At the Law Faculty, he lectures undergraduates on the Law of Contract, and teaches on the LLM Legislation paper.
As Dean, he is responsible for the discipline of students in College.
