Mrs Jo Hornsby (1955-2026)

It is with great regret that the College has to announce that Mrs Jo Hornsby (2026), the Master's Secretary for almost forty years and an Honorary Member of the College, died on the 6 September.

The Master, Sir Christopher Greenwood, made the following statement:

“Jo Hornsby was so much a part of Magdalene that it is difficult to imagine the College without her. The five Masters whom she so loyally served as secretary, and countless Fellows, members of staff and students will remember her with gratitude and affection. Our thoughts are with her parents, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by us all.”

The whole College will miss her and extends its deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Funeral Service

The funeral service will take place at the Cam Valley Crematorium on Thursday 1 October at 10.30 am.
