May Bumps Marquee

Support the Magdalene Crews at the May Bumps Marquee.

The Mallory Club invites the College community to support the Magdalene Boat Club at this year’s Mays Marquee on Ditton Meadow, held on Saturday 20 June, for the final day of the May Bumps. 

Racing runs from 11:45 am to 6:00 pm, with refreshments available throughout. Head down to the meadows for a relaxed day by the river, catch up with friends, and support the Magdalene crews from the bank.

Expect a friendly crowd, plenty of cheering, and summer favourites like Pimm’s and snacks. Blazers and College colours are encouraged, and family and friends are very welcome.

It promises to be a great community day and a chance to get behind the Magdalene crews on one of the biggest days of the racing calendar.

Getting there

On foot or by bike from the City Centre

Follow the footpath along the river past Jesus Green and Midsummer Common, keeping the river on your left. Continue under the Elizabeth Way bridge and head across Stourbridge Common to the Railway Bridge. The Marquee is located just upstream of Ditton Corner on Ditton Meadow. If you're coming from the Towpath side, the Magdalene punt will be running to ferry people across the river.

By train

The closest station is Cambridge North. Cambridge station is also an option, though slightly further from the site.

By taxi

Taxis to Fen Ditton may be possible but are only recommended for those who are less mobile, as traffic in the area will be heavy on race day.

If you have any access requirements or are hoping to travel by car (parking is extremely limited), please email info@malloryclub.com in advance. Walking or cycling is much appreciated where possible.
