Matriculation 2019

A very warm welcome to all of our new students who Matriculated today and officially became Members of the College.

This year we welcome 171 new students to Magdalene; 101 undergraduates and 70 postgraduates make up the 2019 cohort. We offer a warm welcome to all new Members of the Magdalene community and wish them happiness and success during their time with us.

This year there were 505 undergraduate applications to study at Magdalene, an increase of 18% from the last admissions round. From these, 411 applicants were invited for interview with approximately 870 interviews held in College and a further 41 interviews overseas. The College made over 66% of its UK offers to applicants applying from the state school sector, exceeding the University target of between 62-64%.

Of the 171 new Members, we welcome 52 international students (19 undergraduates and 33 postgraduates) from 31 countries, reflecting the global reputation of the University and the College.
