Incoming Postgraduate Room Selection
Following College Confirmation, students are invited to join the Magdalene College Accommodation Portal, where you will be able to select your 26/27 College room from the full list of those remaining.
Create your account
Please set your login credentials using the email College has previously contacted you on.
All students will need to create a standalone password, they should not use their University CRSID password even if they already have access to this.
If you have any issues with your Portal account creation, please contact it@magd.cam.ac.uk.
Select your College room
After you have created your login you will be able to access the Portal.
You will then be able to select your preferred room and apply for it. Following your submission this application will be reviewed, and you will receive further details via email.
Medical requirements
Students with medical requirements for a particular type of room will note that a specific sub-selection of rooms with attributes often required (ensuite, double bed, etc) is reserved for them.
If a students has any questions or specific concerns, they should be in touch with the Accommodation Coordinator (rooms@magd.cam.ac.uk) as soon as possible; the student does not need to disclose the details of their condition.
Once students arrive at College, they will be required to contact the College Welfare team to confirm the accommodation requirement on medical grounds. The student may be required to provide evidence from a GP or other clinician.
Early arrivals
Students who require an early arrival, before 28 September 2026, should select Early Arrival rooms on the Portal and note their requested arrival date.
Early arrivals are only available for courses with an early course start date, no other early arrivals will be accommodated.
Rooms available for early arrivals may be limited; if a student has any questions they should be in touch with the Accommodation Coordinator at rooms@magd.cam.ac.uk.
Contract length
Students should note that some rooms are available for 12-month contracts, and others for 9-month contracts only.
If a student selects a room with a 9-month contract they should be aware that it will not be possible to remain in College accommodation after 30 June 2027.

You may find that rooms in high demand are taken up quickly; please be prepared to select a room beyond your first choice if required. Each student may choose one room; once a room has been requested it will no longer be available to other students on Portal. It is not possible to change your 26/27 room selection, so please consider this carefully. Please note that some rooms are available only to those with a medical requirement for a particular type of room: do not apply for a medical requirement room unless you require one, otherwise your application will not be considered and you will need to reapply for another room.
Accommodation Licence
Once you have chosen a room on Portal, this room selection will be reviewed and you will be invited to return to the Portal to access your Accommodation Licence. You must then sign your Licence within 7 days to confirm you would like to take the room.
