Deputy Head Porter

Full time (40 hours per week)
£31,000 - £33,900 per annum

Magdalene College is seeking to appoint to the role of Deputy Head Porter to assist the Head Porter in the management of the Porters’ Lodge, providing a friendly, welcoming and safe environment. The Deputy Head Porter will work with the Head Porter on the recruitment, induction and training of all Porters to ensure shifts are filled and policies and procedures are followed. The post holder is also the Deputy Fire Officer for the College.

Applicants should have management or supervisory experience in a front line, customer service environment, be an excellent team leader with sound communication, planning and organisational skills. A high standard of computer literacy is also necessary.

The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, and attracts a highly competitive salary from £31,000 - £33,900 p.a. (dependent on experience) and excellent benefits including:

Deputy Buttery Supervisor

Full time (40 hours per week)
£25,394 per annum

The College seeks to appoint a Deputy Buttery Supervisor to work in and help oversee the Buttery team; serving food and beverages and maintaining the good order of the main food service areas, including the student cafeteria (Ramsay Hall), Formal Hall, and such other events in parts of Magdalene College as may from time to time be required.

The Buttery provides a food and geverage service to the College, and is responsible for serving Fellows, students, staff and guests at conferences, banquets and weddings as well as daily lunch and dinners. The Buttery Team are “front of house” and have a hugely important role in presenting a professional and efficient service to members of the College community and their guests.

The post holder will provide excellent customer service, be reliable and proactive with excellent team working and communication skills. You will have an understanding of professional catering services, till work and be able to work in a supervisory role.

The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, and attracts a salary of £25,394 per annum.
