The College is seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated manager to lead the Porters’ Lodge. The Head Porter will have associated wide-ranging responsibilities as the Porter’s Lodge is the first point of contact for College members, conference guests and members of the public.
The Head Porter is a key role within the College management team and is pivotal in the full range of College activities including: security and fire safety; student welfare and student facilities; enforcement of College rules; ceremonies and events; and effective management of the Porters’ Lodge.
The post holder should have proven team management experience, completed Fire Risk Assessment training, knowledge of security systems and excellent communication skills.
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

The College seeks to appoint a Database Officer to comprehensively manage, maintain and protect the Alumni & Development Office database, The Raiser’s Edge, in support of the Office’s alumni relations and fundraising activities. The post holder will also be required to create regular reports, provide ad hoc training ensuring the team is utilising the database to the full and occasionally perform additional administrative duties as requested by the Development Director/ Deputy Development Director.
The post holder should be a very well organised, pro-active individual with good people skills who has excellent attention to detail. They will need excellent IT skills, extensive experience of databases along with an understanding of alumni relations and fundraising. IT Systems Developer
The College is seeking to appoint an IT Systems Developer with experience and knowledge of web-based application development. The Computer Office covers many areas including network infrastructure, servers, desktops, applications, telephone, CCTV, door locks, security, EPOS, internet, web server, audiovisual. Whilst this post will primarily be a web systems development and support role, the successful candidate should also be willing to assist in other application support areas if called upon.

Casual Waiting / Bar / Servery Staff
We are looking for casual staff to act as a waiter / waitress / bar person / servery assistants to assist in serving and maintaining the good order of the main food service areas, in particular, Hall, and other parts of Magdalene College, including the College Bar and Cripps Court.
Experience of working in a food services environment is desirable, but not essential. Great customer service skills, a can-do attitude and flexibility are all required. Applicants must be presentable and have the ability to work well in a team.
This is a casual position and hours are ad hoc and will vary week to week.
