After Applying

You have submitted your UCAS application and your My Cambridge Application. What do you do next?

There are some other forms and information which we now need from you and which you should send at your earliest convenience, and in any event by the deadline listed. Please do read this page carefully and make sure that we have all the information necessary to process your application by the dates stated.

**Email correspondence from us may be classed by your email server as being spam. Please check your junk emails regularly**

Pre-registration required Assessments

If you are applying for a subject with an assessment for which pre-registration is required, you will already have registered for this.

For more information, including assessment dates, please see the pre-registration required assessments page on the Undergraduate Study website.

Extenuating Circumstances

If you wish to make us aware of any Extenuating Circumstances you will need to ask your school/college referee (or doctor/social worker) to complete an Extenuating Circumstances Form (ECF) on your behalf. The submission deadline is 22 October.

Please see the Extenuating Circumstances page for more information.

Additional Written Work

Some courses require additional school written work to be submitted as part of your application. Please check if your subject requires Additional Written Work.

If you are required to submit Additional Written Work it should be submitted to the Academic Office via the Applicant Documents Upload Form by early November.

Applicants with a Disability

If you have registered a disability (including dyslexia, dyspraxia or any unseen disability) on your application it is important that you read the Disability Letter and Form and return the form to us by early November via the Applicant Documents Upload Form.

The Disability letter and Disability Interview Adjustment form will be available in due course.

Invitations to Interview

** Admissions interviews at Magdalene for the 2023-24 admissions round will be held virtually. For further information please visit the University's webpage on interviews. **

If you have applied for an interview in Cambridge then you will hear whether or not you have been selected for interview by mid-November. We will send you information then about the timings and arrangements for your interview.

The majority will take place in December, although some subjects may interview in early January.

Interviewing scheduling is a very complicated procedure and takes some time. We will endeavour to write in mid-November to those invited for an interview to confirm the details. This notification will be sent by email. If there are particular days on which you cannot attend for interview for strong reasons (e.g. hospital appointment, examination, or religious grounds) please let us know as soon as possible. Whilst we are sympathetic to applicants who may be involved in school concerts or drama activities in this period, we regret that we are unable to reschedule interviews on such grounds. Once interviews are scheduled it will not be possible to change arrangements.

Candidates not Selected for Interview

If you are not called for an interview then you will be informed of this by mid-November.

After Interviews

After your interviews, you will not hear any more from us until the New Year. If we have been unable to find a place for you at Magdalene but consider your application strong enough to be placed in the Winter Pool, then it is possible that you may be invited by another College for a further interview in January.

All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application before the end of January 2025. If you have heard nothing about the outcome of your application by 31 January, you should contact the Academic Office.
