May Bumps Marquee

Support the Magdalene Crews at the May Bumps Marquee.

Join the Mallory Club and Magdalene Boat Club for a day of racing, refreshments, and College spirit at the Magdalene May Bumps Marquee on Saturday 21 June.

Set on Ditton Meadow, just upstream of Ditton Corner, the Marquee will be open throughout the racing day, with Pimm’s, food, and snacks available. As always, the Magdalene punt will be on hand to ferry guests across the river from the towpath. All alumni, students, Fellows, staff, and their families are warmly invited.

Magdalene blazers and College colours are encouraged — and cheering for our crews is very much expected!

Getting there

On foot or by bike from the City Centre

Follow the footpath along the river past Jesus Green and Midsummer Common, keeping the river on your left. Continue under the Elizabeth Way bridge and head across Stourbridge Common to the Railway Bridge. The Marquee is located just upstream of Ditton Corner on Ditton Meadow. If you're watching from the Towpath side, hail the Magdalene punt to take you across free of charge.

By train

The closest station is Cambridge North. Cambridge station is also an option, though slightly further from the site.

By taxi

Taxis to Fen Ditton may be possible but are only recommended for those who are less mobile, as traffic in the area will be heavy on race day.

If you have any access requirements or are hoping to travel by car (parking is extremely limited), please email info@malloryclub.com in advance. Walking or cycling is much appreciated where possible.
