Annual Fund Officer
Full time (36.25 hours per week)
£31,024 - £32,444 p.a. (depending on qualifications and experience)
Magdalene College is seeking to appoint a confident and knowledgeable Annual Fund Officer with strong interpersonal skills to be able to build effective relationships with regular and potential future donors. We would expect applicants to have some experience in annual fundraising and to be keen to develop skills in annual fund (unrestricted funds) fundraising to advance their career in Development in the Higher Education sector.
The Annual Fund Officer will be closely involved with the running of the annual Telephone Campaign in-house, utilising and building on the flexibility of VanillaSoft. They will have responsibility for the Leadership segment of the Annual Fund and work closely with the Deputy Development Director, who leads the Regular Giving Programme; they will work towards expanding the leadership annual fund cohort at Magdalene.
Applicants should have experience of annual fund fundraising as well as developing plans to enhance the regular giving program. Applicants should also have excellent interpersonal and organisational, and database skills and be educated to degree standard.
The position is full-time, 36.25 hours a week, but applications from those wishing to work part-time at 80% or above would be considered, and attracts a highly competitive salary of £31,024 - £32,444 p.a. dependent on qualifications and experience and excellent benefits including:

HR Coordinator
27 hours per week
£24,533 per annum (£32,938 FTE)
The College is looking to appoint to the role of HR Co-ordinator working within the HR team. The postholder will have responsibility for assisting line managers with recruitment, drafting employment contracts and dealing with first-line HR queries.
You will need to have experience working in an administrative capacity within HR, a CIPD level 5 qualification, knowledge of employment law, along with excellent communication and organisation skills.
The working hours are 27 per week, although ideally the hours would be split across at least four days a week. There is some flexibility on the exact number of hours and the work pattern. The post attracts a salary of up to £24,533 p.a. for 27 hours per week (point 30 on the college pay scale) and excellent benefits, including:

- 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) pro rata if part time

Relief College Night Porter
£13.70 per hour
Magdalene College wishes to appoint Relief College Porters to be available to work in the Porters’ Lodge, to assist the Head Porter in ensuring the provision of effective and efficient reception and support to students, staff, Fellows and visitors. This is a varied role that touches all elements of College life.
The main Porters’ Lodge is based in Magdalene Street and is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.
The Porters’ Lodge is the reception point for visitors, and it is essential that our Porters are polite, helpful and welcoming to all who need assistance. This can include external visitors, students in need of support, as well as staff and fellows. The Porters’ Lodge is an important part of College life, and it is essential that Porters support students during their studies as well as the wider College Community. Applicants must have customer service experience, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a courteous, friendly and professional manner. With a willingness to work at short notice, the post holder must also have the ability to remain calm and solve problems in challenging situations and be IT literate.
The position is to work on a casual basis, offering mainly night shifts (7 pm-7 am) and at short notice. It attracts a salary of £13.70 per hour plus excellent benefits, including meals on duty. Training and uniform will be provided.
