About

Magdalene College sits on the River Cam in the heart of Cambridge.

Founded in 1428, Magdalene has a rich history and a blend of architectural styles, with nearly 600 years of academic tradition.

Each year, we welcome around 100 undergraduates and 100 postgraduates across all Cambridge courses. Our small intake fosters a welcoming and supportive community where students thrive academically and take full advantage of sporting and extracurricular opportunities.

Magdalene is a fantastic place to live and study, offering a friendly atmosphere, strong academic support, and plenty of ways to get involved beyond your studies.

Visitors are welcome throughout the year—just check in at the Porters’ Lodge on arrival. The College closes from mid-April to mid-June for exams. The Pepys Library is currently closed for renovation and will reopen to the public at the end of 2026.
