You will find all travel and location information given here.
The College is often open at other times of the year for visitors to explore the College buildings and gardens. However, potential applicants should be aware that during exams and at some other times the College may be closed to visitors. It is therefore a good idea for individual prospective applicants who would like to visit the College to get in touch by contacting the admissions office. Once we know that you hope to visit, we may also be able to make specific arrangements for you - for example, to meet with a particular Director of Studies or an Admissions Tutor or to arrange a tour of the College with a student.
Please contact the Admissions Office to check before making arrangements to visit by emailing admissions@magd.cam.ac.uk or ringing +44 (0)1223 332135.
Magdalene frequently hosts visiting school groups, with priority going to schools in our link areas of Merseyside and Wales. A visit to Cambridge can be a very effective way of separating the myths from the reality and persuading students to consider applying here. Of course we also welcome visits from schools outside our link areas when we can.
A visit to Magdalene gives students the opportunity to look around a College and get a feel for the place, hear the facts about the application process from admissions staff and, most importantly, meet Cambridge students and chat informally about what it?s really like to study here. We can usually offer lunch, a presentation on applying to Cambridge, tours of the College and a Q&A with undergraduates.
As Magdalene is one of the smallest Cambridge colleges, it is not possible to offer overnight accommodation to school groups, except during the University Open Days in July.
The College has some funds available to contribute towards travel expenses for visits to Magdalene by schools in our link areas with little or no tradition of sending candidates to Cambridge. To find out more, please contact us at access@magd.cam.ac.uk .
If you would like to bring a group of students to Cambridge, please complete this form and send it to the Schools Liaison Assistant at access@magd.cam.ac.uk and we will do our best to find suitable date for your visit.
