Mr Pascal Gehlert

Mr Pascal Gehlert is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Magdalene.

Pascal grew up in a small town just north of Munich in Bavaria. From here he moved to London to complete his Masters in Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London, which included a year long stint with the aerodynamics group of the Mercedes Formula One team. Pascal then joined Magdalene College for his PhD in the Autumn of 2017 where, under the supervision of Professor Babinsky, he focused on the transient nature of unsteady aerodynamics, commonly observed around flapping wings or during gust encounters.

In the summer of 2021 Pascal began his postdoc, aiming to experimentally explore and mitigate the significant force spike created by gusts affecting micro aerial vehicles or wind and water turbines.
