The New Library
We are absolutely delighted that we have realised the central vision of the Campaign: to build a new College library to house our library holdings, create new, modern teaching and study spaces, and encompass an Archive Centre and Art Gallery.
We have recently quietly opened the building for the resident students in a COVID-19 secure manner and, at present, study places have to be pre-booked and numbers are very limited. The feedback from those who have been able to use this amazing new space has been wonderfully positive! We very much look forward to the grand opening when we are able to hold a proper party.
Please see here The New Library webpages for more information about this fantastic addition to the College estate. The New Library has been built to last for 400 years and is a lasting testament to the generosity of thousands of Magdalene Members and Friends.

What's happened, and when? On this page you will find the timeline for the construction of the New Building from planning to opening.
News and Updates
Construction projects of this scale are fast moving so we will be posting regular updates from the building contractors to keep everyone informed. We plan to list on-site activities that have been completed, those that are due to start and those which are due to commence in the future.
Future Foundations - The Campaign for Magdalene is a five-year campaign aiming to raise £25 million to secure undergraduate bursaries, support graduate students and early career Fellows, build a new College Library and restore the iconic Pepys Building.
