Double your impact with the Harding Challenge
If you are a first-time donor and choose to donate to any aspect of student support (which includes undergraduates, postgraduates and wider student life and wellbeing), your gift will unlock, pound for pound, a contribution to a special university wide fund for undergraduate financial support.
Who would benefit from my gift?
Your donation would go entirely to benefit students at Magdalene in the area that you’d like to support. However, the additional money unlocked would be highly beneficial to students across the University as part of expansions to the Cambridge Bursary Scheme aimed at helping all undergraduates in greatest need in Collegiate Cambridge.
How exactly does the Harding Challenge work?
The money which your donation unlocks will provide additional resource for the Cambridge Bursary Scheme, which is being expanded so that a greater number of students will be eligible, and those in greatest need will receive more than ever before. This additional resource is distributed to students across the Collegiate University. How it is distributed is based on College wealth and undergraduate student numbers. In Magdalene’s case, distributions are weighted in the College’s favour and benefit to the College is amplified.
For every £1 Magdalene raises from new donors for undergraduates, an extra £1.94 from the Harding Challenge will be put towards this support, meaning your gift will be worth £2.94 to the Collegiate university.
