Non-Resident Members' Dining Night

Dine at High Table at a specially organised Non-Resident Members' (NRM) Dining Night.

Members who have taken their MA (Cantab) are welcome to dine at High Table up to three times a year on specially organised NRM Dining Nights held twice a term. Many alumni choose to use their MA dining privileges at the NRM Nights.

Magdalene College Hall

NRM Nights are designed to cater to small groups, the number of attendees is restricted to a maximum of ten. Guests are welcome but spaces are limited. Alumni can also book the Fellows' Parlour through the Conference Office for parties of up to 22 people.

NRM Nights are free for Members. There is a standard High Table charge of £28.80 for guests.

It is not possible to bring guests under the age of 21 and current students are unable to dine at High Table.

Menu

The menu for the evening is provided on High Table. When dining on High Table, there are additional, traditional dessert options to those stated on the menu, please ask the serving staff.

Dietary Requirements

Please let us know of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. 

Dress code

Members and guests are not required to wear gowns but may do so if they wish.

  • Men - Lounge suit and tie
  • Women - Cocktail dress/suit

Accommodation

College accommodation may be available, please discuss your requirements when booking.

Access

As the College's First Court buildings are old and listed, access to some areas may be difficult for those with restricted mobility. Please contact the Alumni & Development Office if you have any concerns.

The Master

Dr Rowan Williams

The Master, Dr Rowan Williams, along with other senior Colege Fellows will be in attendance. Dr Williams will be giving the College grace before the meal. Archbishop of Canterbury from 2002-12 , Dr Williams became Master of Magdalene on the 1 January 2013 and was the first Master to be elected by the Fellows. Dr Williams holds honorary doctorates from over a dozen universities, from Durham to K U Leuven, Toronto to Bonn. In 1990 he was elected a Fellow of the British Academy.
