Magdalene at the Hay Festival

-
Hay Festival

We are delighted to announce that the Master of Magdalene, Dr Rowan Williams, and Magdalene Fellow, Dr Hannah Critchlow, will be speaking at the Hay Festival this year.

Their talk What is Consciousness? takes place on Saturday 26 May at 5.30pm, and will explore the concept of consciousness: is it unique to humans? Are we all simply machines? Do we have free will? Can we invoke an enhanced collective consciousness? Bringing together findings from science and insights from religion they will unpick what it means to be conscious.

Magdalene has reserved 50 places at this popular event for Magdalene alumni and their guests.

The talk will be followed by a private Magdalene drinks reception at 7.30-8.30pm that evening, at which Members will have a chance to talk to Lord Williams and Dr Critchlow.
