Duncan Robinson Memorial

Memorial Service for Duncan Robinson CBE

-

Mr Duncan Robinson CBEMembers of Magdalene are invited to attend the memorial service of former Master and Honorary Fellow, Duncan Robinson CBE, on Saturday 22nd April at Great St Mary's Church, Cambridge.

As Master of Magdalene from 2002 until 2012, Duncan was a driving force behind the decision to build the New Library and launch the highly successful Future Foundations Campaign. A great scholar, he worked tirelessly and with great success to strengthen the academic standing of the College without losing its happy and caring atmosphere. The prize-winning New Library is a tribute to his vision for Magdalene but is only the physical manifestation of an influence which ran deep in all aspects of College life. Duncan once said that his time as Master was the most fruitful and enjoyable part of his career. We are all grateful for everything he did for the College, and he will be very greatly missed.

The memorial service will take place at Great St Mary's Church, Cambridge, at 2.30pm on Saturday 22nd April 2023 and all Magdalene alumni, Fellows, and staff are warmly welcome. Due to the large numbers anticipated at the service registration is essential, and guests are limited to one per person.

Following the service those who knew Duncan well are invited to join the family for a reception in the Master's Garden, Magdalene College.
