Buckingham Society Virtual Event

-
Membership of the Buckingham Society is open to those who have generously pledged a legacy to Magdalene, and has been named in honour of the Buckingham family, who were the College’s principal benefactors in the 15th century. This event is our way of thanking you for choosing to support Magdalene in this manner.

Ordinarily we would be looking forward to welcoming Members of the Buckingham Society and their guests to a lunch in Hall, however pandemic restrictions regrettably prevent us from doing so this year. Instead we hope that Members will be able to join us for a virtual event in place of our luncheon.

Professor Michael Carpenter, Fellow and former President, and the Development Director, Corinne Lloyd, look forward to updating you on the current situation in College and the progress of the Future Foundations campaign. They will also be joined by Dr Simon Stoddart, Fellow and Director of Studies in Archaeology and Anthropology, who will give a short talk on the subject of 'The Magdalene Dinner' - a witty view into the sometimes strange anthropology of dining in Hall! Finally, Members will have the opportunity to view a performance by College Director of Music and award winning cellist, Graham Walker.
