Professor Franklin Aigbirhio FMedSci

Professor Franklin Aigbirhio is a Senior Research Fellow at Magdalene.

My research is in the development and application of biomedical imaging methods, in particular for the imaging technique of positron emission tomography. My objectives are to design and apply new imaging probes that are specific to human biological markers and are sensitive to in vivo biochemical changes associated with different diseases, such as dementias and cancers. Thereby enable clinical imaging to be applied to investigate disease mechanisms, their early detection and diagnosis and develop new treatments.
