Magdalene Student Makes History in Varsity Golf Victory

Congratulations to Magdalene student Ms Chloë Royston (2023) on an excellent performance in the 136th Varsity Golf Match, held at Royal North Devon Golf Club. Representing Cambridge University Golf Club as captain, Chloë secured a decisive 6&5 win in her singles match.

This result marks a significant moment: Chloë is the first woman to win her singles in the history of the University Match. Her victory also continues a nine-year run of CUGC captains going unbeaten in their Varsity singles.

Cambridge went on to win the match 11.5–3.5, their first Varsity win since 2018. The result capped a strong showing across the board for the team, with eight wins out of ten in the Saturday singles.
