Registration Closed - This event is exclusively for those Members who have subscribed to receive a copy of the definitive diaries of A. C. Benson, edited by Professor Eamon Duffy FBA and Professor Ronald Hyam.

We are delighted to invite Benson Book Subscribers to attend the book's official launch party on Sunday 15 June 2025. The event will take place at ‘Treemans’, the beautiful family home of A. C. Benson and the current residence of Honorary Fellow and Magdalene alumna Katie Derham (1988). We hope that many of you will be able to join us as we celebrate this literary achievement.

Subscribers will receive their copy of this beautifully bound and lavishly annotated two-volume edition at the event, within which will be listed your name.

Programme

  • Time: 3.00pm-5.00pm
  • Venue: 'Treemans', West Sussex
  • Dress Code: Lounge suit or equivalent
  • Food and Drink: Enjoy afternoon tea, sparkling wine and soft drinks
  • Guests: Subscribers are welcome to be accompanied by a guest for this occasion

Access:
As Treemans is a family home (rather than commercial venue) we hope that subscribers will understand that there are limitations to the accessibility of the site. There is no step-free/wheelchair access at the property, and there are no disabled bathroom facilities. 

Parking and Travel: 
As parking is very limited on site, attendees are asked to register their interest in parking when booking. Spaces will then be allocated depending on the volume of requests and access requirements. We will confirm in due course with those requesting parking at the property if their application has been able to be accommodated.

The closest train station to 'Treemans' is Haywards Heath (a 12 minute drive away). Station Taxis can be booked in advance on 01444 410 410 or there is a taxi rank at the front of the station with a healthy supply of cabs.

This event is free of charge for subscribers and a guest to attend.
