College Shield

Magdalene College Chapel

Smaller and more intimate than most college chapels, Magdalene Chapel is a haven of peace at the heart of the community. Built in the 1470s, it embodies Magdalene's rich heritage - our patron saint's life is depicted in the East Window, while memorials commemorate missionaries, church leaders, teachers, and those who gave their lives in conflict.

This historic building is also a living place which brings people together in worship, reflection, and prayer for the community. All members of the college community, whatever their religious beliefs, are welcome to all services. The Chapel is also open each day for those who wish to pray, reflect, or just seek some quiet in this beautiful and peaceful place.

There are a variety of opportunities to assist with worship (by reading lessons, leading prayers, or serving as a chapel officer) and to explore matters of faith and belief - contact the Chaplain

COLLEGE GRACE

Benedic Domine nobis et donis tuis quae de tua largitate sumus sumpturi; et concede ut illis salubriter nutriti tibi debitum obsequium praestare valeamus per Jesum Christum Dominum et Servatorem nostrum.
Bless O Lord us and thy gifts, which through thy bounty we are about to receive, and grant that being by them healthfully nourished we may be enabled to show our bounden duty toward thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

This year marks the four hundredth anniversary of the Authorised (King James) Version of the Bible. The picture on the cover is a 1696 edition owned by Samuel Pepys and now in the Pepys Library.
